With the Stanley Cup Playoffs in full swing, it is the perfect time to have a blog post that is focused on a few of the different sports bars around IUP.

The Coney

Even though it is a sports bar, The Coney is the perfect place for everyone.  Adults, kids and college students can enjoy it here.  This place offers a variety of food from pizza and burgers, to chicken tenders and grilled cheese.  You can even get an entree, one side and one drink for only $3.79.

The Coney has a wide sortment of beer.  It has 13 different kinds of draft beer, 26 kinds of domestic bottled beer and 16 kinds of imported bottled beer.

The Coney also has a different type of drink and food special each week night.  On Tuesdays, there is a dance contest and .50 cent wells.  Wednesday is karaoke night and $1 wells, Thursday is wing night, and on Fridays, there is a dance contest and $1.50 Bud Light Drafts.

You can contact The Coney at 724-465-8082.

Culpeppers

Culpeppers is open from Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 a.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.  It serves a variety of foods such as burgers, wraps, sandwiches, pizza and Mexican.  Culpeppers offers beer on tap, domestic bottles, import bottles, wine and even a few fancy nonalcoholic drinks for the underagers.

Culpeppers just recently opened an upper deck sports bar.  On the upper deck, they offer a variety of beer on tap and even have a "beer of the month."

Like The Coney, Culpeppers has a different food and drink special everyday.   Their wing nights are on Mondays and Thursdays, and they have a special "frozen drink of the week" for $4.00.

Grub's Sports Bar

Grub's is a family restaurant dedicated to those who live for sports, eating delicious food and having a great time.  Grub's comes equipped with a game-room that contains pool tables, electronic darts, foosball and air hockey.

Grub's has a different food special everyday.  For example, on Mondays you can get an extra large pizza for $5, and on Tuesdays you can get a homemade taco for $1. Wing night is on Thursdays.

Grub's also has a different drink special everyday.  For example, on Mondays it is $1 Captain shots, and on Wednesdays it is $1 wells.  For a full list of food and drink specials, you can click here.

You can contact Grub's at 724-801-8628.

There are a few other sports bars around Indiana that might interest you as well.  One of these bars is Boomerang's.  Like the three previous bars in this blog post, Boomies contains many drink and food specials and has received plenty of positive reviews.  Sarah Shepherd, IUP junior, has said that Boomerang's is her favorite bar to go to when she goes out with friends.

"Boomies not only has nice drink specials, but it also has a peaceful atmosphere and gives off a good vibe," said Sarah.
