The Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship program is geared toward committed individuals with professional or academic backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The WW Teaching Fellowship provides a stipend toward completion of a master's degree at one of our partner institutions in Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, and Ohio. is now accepting written input from you for its 4th Chapter. This
includes written works which you produced in fall 2012- spring 2013.
All genres are welcome: articles, narratives, poetry (haikus
included), as well as other genres that you might not had a chance to
share with your writing class(es) such as caricatures, mini sagas, or
graffiti (with written comments on it).]]> note that it must be an "A-" through "A+" paper. However, if you have
a "B" paper that you think is really worthy of publication for its
depth or novelty of topic or anything very special, please let us know
so that we could let you know what to do. You can send your
contributions and any related questions to crimsonquill@ymail.com.
Please send us a pdf of your paper with your professor's comments and
grade on it for verification. Only pdf files will be considered. You

Community Service Hour Submission Reminder

As we near the end of the academic year, please remember to complete and submit your service hours by the end of the semester. Now is the time, prior to the end of semester chaos, to pick up those remaining hours and submit them online.

If you have completed more than 60 hours, please submit them as well. IUP competes nationally for recognition of its service and every hour helps. The Honors College alone contributes approximately 15,000 hours of servce towards this goal every year.

Summer Office Assistant in the Office of Adult and Continuing Education

There is an opening for a summer office assistant in the Office of Adult and Continuing Education. Student must be eligible for federal work study and be at least a sophomore in good academic standing at IUP. A general office assistant plays a key role in ensuring that the office runs efficiently, and performs various basic office functions. At the Office of Adult and Continuing Education, a part-time office assistant works closely with the Director, and will be involved in various projects as assigned.

Requirements for the Position: Attention to detail is a must, along with strong interpersonal skills. Interested applicants must be capable of performing general office duties (copying, scanning, filing, typing, answering phones, etc.) Applicants must also possess professional telephone techniques, be punctual, and possess good customer service skills.

A recently formed community group, Indiana County Center for Community Growth, which is currently holding a film series on the New Economy and the Environment, is looking forward to a very active summer and fall. To help us, we are seeking a student intern to work with us this summer and/or next fall who will build, and maintain an organization website; help in the design and distribution of PR materials; and help maintain our social media presence. Many of the intern's responsibilities include writing and research. What is the Center for Community Growth?

The Center for Community Growth (The Center) is a re-emergence of a membership organization created in the 1990's to unite people in Indiana County, Pennsylvania who believe in progressive democratic principles, non-violence, and civic engagement and want to work collaboratively on those issues locally, regionally and globally.

The Center fosters collaborations between organizations through educational events, such as our recent Building Change in Indiana conference this past spring which brought together 22 social service and advocacy organizations to identify ways to work together, and add value to their work in the community through collaborative projects. This summer The Center is launching a non-partisan voter education initiative throughout Indiana County through food banks.

Our mission is to build support for community minded individuals and organizations in and around Indiana County who are actively working to improve the livelihoods of residents by addressing issues of social, economic, racial, and environmental justice. The Susquehanna Review - Call for Submissions

The Susquehanna Review, an online and in-print literary journal, is calling for submissions of fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, translations, and art from any and all undergraduate students. We're interested in writing with fresh language, complexity, strong character development, emotional resonance, and momentum. We want to read something we haven't read before. We want your language to linger in us long after we've finished the piece. Please check out the work in our online journal for examples of what we're looking for. To be considered for our 2014 issue, please submit your fiction, non-fiction, and poetry by April 5, 2013 and your art and translations by April 19, 2013 via our online submissions manager at https://susquehannareview.submittable.com/submit.

We award the Gary Fincke Creative Writing Prize for the best piece of poetry ($100) and the best piece of prose ($100) in each issue. There is no entry fee. All submissions to Susquehanna Review will automatically be under consideration for the contest, with the exception of students of Susquehanna University. ECON 356 will introduce you to the application of specific statistical methods to economic theory.
