The Paintings of Dick Morrill

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
The arts can be an interesting lens through which to view other academic fields. Your students and faculty may be interested in the upcoming exhibition "The Paintings of Dick Morrill," whose paintings feature scenes of social satire and political commentary in the tradition of the Mexican mural painters Diego Rivera and José Orozco and American social realist painter Jack Levine. Morrill also paints portraits that lay bare the inner lives of his subjects. See additional information and images from the exhibit, attached, and please share them with your students and faculty colleagues.

The University Museum invites students and all members of the IUP community to a free opening reception for "The Paintings of Dick Morrill" on Saturday evening, November 3, 6:00 - 8:30 pm. The artist will speak informally about his work beginning at 6:30.

For more information, please contact me by email or by phone: 724-463-3458. Class tours may be scheduled through the museum's clerical assistant, Sally Daskivich.
