Duration: 10 weeks (June through August), up to 30 hours a week
Pay: $9.50/hour

Honors College Student Governance Panel

The president of California University of Pennsylvania Student Honors Advisory Board would like to put together a panel for the NCHC conference (Phoenix, 19-23 October).  The panel would focus on establishing and running successful Honors student governance organizations.  She would like to get a variety of views from a variety of campuses.

The Koch Internship Program

The Koch Internship Program is a paid internship offered in the summer, fall, and spring for young professionals who want to become effective advocates for individual liberty, free markets, and economic freedom.

Mountbatten Institute - MBA in London

I just wanted to send out a quick reminder that the Mountbatten Institute's March 15 application deadline for the London August intake is approaching.

Since 1984 the Mountbatten Institute has offered full-time, paid international work placements and postgraduate business education to university graduates from around the world.  Every March and August approximately 200 young professionals travel to London to live, work, and study through the Mountbatten program.

Local CHC Alumnus Needs Dog Walker

Lindsay Whited, wife of a CHC alumnus, is looking to hire a student to dog walk/let the dog out once/day through the end of the semester.  They live in Indiana, but you would need a car/transportation to get there.  Call Lindsay at (724) 354-4548.  (This is not eligible for CHC service hours, but is a paid position that you can negotiate with Lindsay.)

·         Students will spend the first week learning and preparing on IUP campus

Bus Transportation will be provided - sign ups available in the Career Development Center.  Students riding the bus will board between 2:45-3:00 p.m. in front of the Co-Op Store parking lot entrance, with the bus leaving promptly at 3:00 p.m.  Students must register for the bus in 302 Pratt Hall and provide a $25 refundable deposit to hold their seat.  The deposit will be refunded during the return trip to IUP. 


Please bring a valid photo i.d. on the day of the event.  Dress is business casual (i.e. men: khakis and a button-down shirt, women: slacks or a skirt and blouse).

Freeman Indonesia Nonprofit Internship Program

The Freeman Indonesia Nonprofit Internship Program (FINIP), funded by the Freeman Foundation and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), aims to develop student leaders and strengthen the nonprofit sector in Indonesia. IIE will select and pair 10 Indonesian students pursuing U.S. degrees with 10 U.S. undergraduates and arrange internships for them to work together in an Indonesian nonprofit organization.


The deadline for students to submit proposals for the 2011 Undergraduate Scholars Forum is 5pm Friday, February 25, 2011. We hope that members of the IUP community will encourage students to submit their work to the Forum. Remember that all proposals must have a faculty sponsor.

Speed Interviewing Opportunity

The Career Development Center secured a $1,000 grant to bring our students the Speed Interviewing & Networking events. We piloted this program during Fall 2010, and now have broken down the event by colleges to allow for a better experience for the students as well as the employers who will participate as interviewers.

Each event will be limited to 20 students to provide the best experience possible. Students can register by contacting the IUP Career Development Center at 724.357.2235. A college-specific flyer for distribution and/or posting is attached.
