Hello Fashion Association!!!

Our final meeting of the semester will be Wednesday, April 25 at 7:00 in Ackerman 212. At our meeting we will be have an ice cream party and officer elections for next year! All positions (except president) are open! Please come out and cast your votes. We would also like to hear feedback about what you all liked/disliked about the activities this year so that the new officers can start brainstorming for next semester.

If you are participating in the Secretary Style Show, we are going to the mall this Wednesday, April 18 to pick out our outfits. We are meeting in the Ackerman circle at 7:00. Please email me if you plan on coming so I know how many cars we need to drive to the mall.

We are volunteering at Feed My Sheep on Saturday, April 28 from 12:00-3:00. Let me know if you need directions. We would love to have lots of help to get the store ready for summer!

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported all the designers of the Fashion ZOO! They worked really hard and did such a great job!

Hi Fashion Association! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

THANK YOU to everyone who helped out along the way with the Trashion Show! The show was amazing and the IAC really appreciated everything we did for them.

This Wednesday, April 4 we will be putting together the invitations for the style show and making a banner to hang in the oak grove for the fashion zoo. This is usually our off week but we would appreciate your help! We will be in Ackerman 212. Please come help if you can!

The spring style show is April 24 in the Allenwood Restaurant (basement of Ackerman). The show begins at 11:45 and models will need to be there by 10:30. If you are interested in modeling please email me (HBKQ)! We will have a letter that will get you excused from class.

The Fashion ZOO fashion show will be on April 14 at 7:00 in the Folgers Conference room (by the soda machines). Tickets will be $5. If you have family or friends coming to the show you will be able to get tickets early or you can purchase them at the door.

Some designers still need models! If you are interested in modeling or know someone who wants to model please email Brittany ASAP (BXYP).

Please save all toilet paper and paper towel rolls for decorations for the Fashion ZOO! We will be putting a box in the alcove to collect them.

Relay for Life is April 28. Email Amanda (a.d.harned) if you are interested! We will only be participating in the event if we have members who are interested in walking.

Hello Fashion Association!

This Wednesday, March 28 we will be having a meeting at 7:00 in Ackerman 212! We will be going over everything we have planned for the rest of the semester and finishing up decorations for the Trashion Show. While we work on decorations we will be watching a fun fashion video about the garment district! Hope to see everyone there!!!

After our regular meeting on Wednesday, we will be holding a model call for the Fashion ZOO designers who need them. The model call will begin around 8:00 in Ackerman 212. Please tell all your friends to come out! (Bring heels).

This Friday, March 30 is the Trashion Show at the Coney! Students can purchase rush tickets at the door starting at 6:00 for $10. Come out and see all of the amazing designs!!!

If you are designing/modeling for the Trashion show, you should have received an email earlier today regarding what times to be places on Thursday and Friday. If you did not receive this email let me know and I will forward it to you.

Hello Everyone!

Since Spring Break is about to start I wanted to get this email out before everyone stops checking their emails for the week.

Thank you those who came to our meeting last night and participated in the Etsy photo shoot! You all did a great job and it was really fun to see what each group came up with.

The week we come back from spring break we have a lot going on!

Monday, March 19 @ 7:00 in Ackerman 212 - Brittany is holding a meeting for all the designers who are participating in the Fashion ZOO fashion show. PLEASE be there if you are designing!

Wednesday, March 21 from 7:00-7:30 in Allegheny Room @ HUB - We will be holding our spring clothing swap! Collect your unwanted clothes over spring break! You can drop off your items from 6:00-7:00 before the event starts. Make sure to tell all our friends!!!!

Wednesday, March 21 after clothing swap in HUB Lobby area - We will be finishing up all decorations for the trashion show. Bring any newspaper, magazines, plastic water bottles, plastic grocery bags, hot glue guns, tape, and scissors.

Thursday, March 22 @ 6:00 in Ruddock Hall - Spring Style Show for the Ruddock Hall girls. Cat needs about 6 people to be stylists for the event. Girls from Ruddock hall will be modeling but they want help styling their spring look. If you have any ideas and want to participate please contact Cat (c.t.shelburne).

Thursday, March 22 @ 7:00 in Eberly - Miss Representation. Come out and watch the film! It’s going to be really good and we want as many people to be there as possible. Tell all your friends! You can watch the trailer here.

We are selling Bonton Booklets to raise money for the association. Chirstina is in charge of this fundraiser and if you are interested in selling any booklets you can contact her (c.c.redmond).

Administrative Assistance Day - This style show is for all the secretaries on campus. The theme this year is Sock Hop. It will be on April 24 in the Allenwood Restaurant in Ackerman. If you are interested in modeling for this event email Brittany (b.a.williams3).

Hello Fashion Association!

Happy Monday!

Just a reminder that our meeting is this Wednesday, March 7 at 7:00 in Ackerman 212! This is our big Etsy Photo Shoot so make sure each team brings all of the supplies that they need!

For those who are not in a group for the photo shoot, we will be working on decorations for the Trashion Show. We are still collecting newspaper, magazines, and plastic water bottles to make the decorations. Also bring a hot glue gun if you have one!

Hello Fashion Association!

We had a great meeting on Thursday with our guest speaker, Dr. John Branscum, from Black & Grey Magazine. Thank you to those who were able to come out!

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, March 7 at 7:00 in Ackerman 212. This meeting will be our Etsy Photo Shoot!!! If you signed up to be in a group you should be hearing from the officer who is acting as “ghost” to make sure you have a plan for the shoot. If you are not signed up for a group and want to take part, email me or one of the officers and let us know what group you want to be apart of. With all of our upcoming events (Etsy Photo Shoot, Trashion Show, Fashion ZOO Fashion Show) we will be holding a Model Call. It will take place this Wednesday, February 29 at 6:00 in Ackerman 212. This is for anyone who needs a model for any of the 3 above activities or wants to be a model for any of the 3 above activities.

We are helping out the CAs of Ruddock Hall with their spring style show. They are having a meeting on Thursday, March 1 at 7:00 on the 4th floor of Ruddock Hall to come up with spring looks for their show. Anyone is invited to join the meeting and be involved. If you want to attend, think of spring trends and bring along some props to describe the spring looks that you like. Cat is the person in charge of this event, email her with any questions (c.t.shelburne@iup.edu).

Dues are due at our next meeting!!!! They are only $15 for the semester!

Deadline to sign up to design for our Fashion ZOO Fashion show is TODAY Monday, February 27! Email Brittany if you are interested or have any questions (b.a.williams3@iup.edu).

This Saturday, March 3 Jocelyn will be taking people to Surplus City in Altoona to get supplies needed to begin designing for Fashion ZOO. Email her for details (JRJQ).

For Trashion Show decorations, we need everyone to save their plastic water bottles and magazines. There is a box in the alcove to put the bottles in and magazines can be stacked on the floor. Thank you for your help!!!

We are helping the English Honors Fraternity spread the word about the Miss Representation film they are bringing to campus. The film will be shown on Thursday, March 22 at 7:00 in Eberly. Hello everyone! I am so thrilled to be writing a post for the Fashion Association of IUP! For those of you who don’t know, 2012 Fall Collections have been presented by numerous designers from all over the world since February 8th. Designers such as Oscar de la Renta with his Jackie O. inspired garments and Balenciaga’s 80s retro looks have put the old gloom and doom of fall/winter into an array of pastels and punchy colors. Other designers such as Matthew Williamson and Mulberry step it up with avant-garde patterns and colors that might not normally go together, but somehow these designers make it look like the best thing next to slice bread. I am very pleased by many designers’ collections because they took the norm of fall which is really more about dark and neutral colors and they turned it upside down to make the cold season more fun and exciting.

Hello Fashion Association! Just a few reminders…

Don’t forget about our meeting this week! It will be on Thursday (Feb. 23) at 7:00 p.m. in Ackerman 212. We will be having a guest speaker. It will be a lot of fun so be sure to come out!!!

We will be collecting dues at the meeting. ONLY $15 for the semester!!!

For the Trashion Show we need to collet plastic bottles and magazines for decorations that we will be making. Please save them for us!
