INDIANA, Pa. - On Oct. 29, a 21-year-old IUP student died after suffering injuries from a motorcycle accident that occurred when a 74-year-old man failed to yield and made a left-hand turn into his path, according to police.

Expensive suites replace inexpensive dorms

University officials insist wood framework is safe

INDIANA -- Indiana University of Pennsylvania student Laurie Irion wanted to live in the new suites for the 2007-2008 academic year because the traditional residence halls no longer suited her. But she was skeptical about her move because of the materials used in the new buildings.

Every spring, student-government elections roll around at IUP, and it's the same story -- student apathy and low voter turnout.

 

The Student Government Association's get-out-the-vote effort is another familiar story - an email "blast" sent to all IUP students alerting them to their civic duty in the April 11-12 elections. But SGA's top election official said the emails don't work well.
